Source: S3155 Everett Herald February 13, 2012 Francis George Brink was born in Lynden, Washington on January 31, 1922. He lived his life exemplifying two important values: hard work and loyalty. As a young boy, he helped support his family by working on his neighbor's farm. He left secondary school to join the Navy during World War II. With courage and valor, he fought in the Pacific and earned the rank of Chief Motormate. His loyalty to his fellow comrades and country were a source of pride for him. Throughout his career as a fisherman in Alaska for 12 years, salesman of heavy equipment for 35 years and appraiser during semi-retirement, Francis demonstrated a fierce devotion to his work. Most importantly, Francis' greatest passion was his family. He dedicated his life taking care of those he loved. Irene Laura Phelps was his one true love. They married March 20, 1942, and were together on earth for 52 years. He eagerly anticipated meeting her again in death. Francis and Irene had one son, Phillip, in whom they took great pride. In his later years, Francis enjoyed his granddaughters, Shelly and Jeni; and great grandchildren, Ethan and Zoe. Francis joined Irene; parents, George and Elizabeth; and sisters, Lena and Mildred in Heaven on February 5, 2012. He is survived by Phillip and his wife, Brenda; Shelly, Jeni and their spouses; great grandchildren, Ethan and Zoe; as well as a close nephew and hunting partner, Stan (Snogie) Phelps, Jr. and his family. Arrangements entrusted to Purdy & Walters with Cassidy at 425-252-2191. Service will be held at Cypress Hills Lawn Memorial Park in Everett Wednesday February 15, at 11:00 a.m.
