Dora Bristol was born 18 June 1890 in Crystal township, Oceana county, Michigan. Her father used several version of his first name, the initials T. E. Bristol, Her Mother was Edith V. Manley. By 1900 Dora and her mother were living in Marion, Osceola, Michigan. At the time of her marriage Dora was a teacher and she and her mother were living in Vermontville, Eaton county, Michigan. Dora married Bert Elmer Black 18 October 1909 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. They lived in Belair, Antrim county where their three children were born and by the 1930's they lived in Traverse City, Michigan. Dora died 11 September 1981 in Traverse City, Michigan.
