He married MARY ELIZABETH SMITH TAYLOR in 1749 in North Carolina. She was born Abt. 1729 in North Carolina, and died 1806 in Robeson County, North Carolina.

Lamuel's will was written 20 November 1795. [2] In his will he names sons, Elexander Britt, Nathan Britt, Samuel Britt; grandson Britain Britt; daughters Nancy Britt, Polly Britt, Betsy Britt and wife Mary Britt

Will of Lamuel Britt, dated 20 November 1795, Robeson County, North Carolina
In the name of God Amen. I Lamuel Britt being in perfect sense and memory do make this my last will and Testament in manner and form following (To wit).
I give unto my son Elexander Britt one hundred and Twenty five acres of Land lying on Hog Swamp Joining Fulmores corner line with the house and everything belonging to the said land to him and to his heirs forever after his mothers widowhood.
Item I give unto my son Nathan Britt one hundred acres of land Joining of Fulmores back line and the great Bay and I give unto him twentyfive acres partly concludin a field called Edwardses field lying on a Branch that runs from the great Bay to Hog Swamp through my own plantation it being twenty five acres taken from the land above given to Elexander Britt to make a equal division Betwixt them.
Item I give unto my daughter Nancy Britt one hundred acres of Land lying East side old field Swamp Joining Jesse Atkinsons line to her and her heirs forever.
Item I give to Britain Britt one heifer a son of Samuel Britts to him and his heirs forever.
Item I give unto my wife Mary Britt Eleven head of Cattle and Two horses and what Hogs I possess and all the remainder of my Estate of what nature or kind soever to her during her widowhood after her widowhood I give to my son Elexander one horse called Brag and I give to my son Nathan Britt one horse named Gumper and I give Charity Britt one Bed and I give my daughter Nancy Britt one Bed and my son Nathan Britt one Bed after his mothers death and I give my daughters Betsy and Polly Britt Each them one Cow and Calf and I desire the remainder of my Estate to be divided my wife Mary Britts widowhood equally amongst my children in proportion to what I have given them.
I do appoint my son Samuel Britt Executor of this my last will and Testament and do revoke all wills by me heretofore made in witness whereof I hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 20th day of November 1795 signed sealed published and declared in presence of Jo Lee +

An inconsistency exists concerning the date of birth for Lemuel. His father and mother did not even marry until 1737. At this time, I have not been able to clarify this problem. Any help in this area would be greatly appreciated!
