James Britton born about 1824 and was the third son of James Britton and Mary Laird and the first Britton owner at Tullyholvin Lower. He married Eliza Buchanan (6 known children, descendants in Ireland and Canada, via America). Inherited property, farmer and shopkeeper.[7][8]
He established the public house, then known as 'The Britton Inn', now known as 'The Linnet Inn'. [9]
Probably the James Britton listed in Griffith Valuation at Tullyholvin Lower.[10]
