Biography

Luther was born about 1808 in Connecticut and died November 12, 1897 in Ohio. ^[1] He is buried in Westwood Cemetery, Oberlin, Lorain, Ohio.^[2]

He married Jane Twitchell. ^[3]

He married Mary Gilchrist in 1841 when she was 23 and he was 33.

On February 1, 1899 the Wellington, Ohio Enterprise published the following on page 2:

George W. Broadwell and Henry C. Martindale, executors of the last will of Luther Broadwell, are anxious to sell land to pay debts and have petitioned the court for an order. ^[4]

Birth place: Luther's death record gives his birth place as Seymour, Connecticut, but Seymour was not incorporated until May of 1850. It was originally part of Derby. ^[10]
