DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with James by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with James:

This is from the Ontario Pioneers Geneaologies and I though it might be of interest to you:

During the 1800’s, the Brock family lived in all of these developing areas. The first Ontario ancestor James Brock, born about 1791, came from the United States to Montreal, Quebec as a single young man and married Sarah Grimshaw. The couple lived for a time on Turkey Point in Charlotteville Township, Norfolk County on the north shore of Long Point Bay, Lake Erie. During the early 1850’s they were in newly developing Egremont Township in the Canadian Shield area south of Owen Sound then returned to Charlotteville. Several of their children moved a short distance east to fish out of Port Dover and their children and grandchildren continued there. Some of the Brock children fished out of the village of Southampton in Bruce County on central Lake Huron. Son Wellington Paul Brock, born about 1832 (pictured below) was a second generation fisherman in Normandale then in the pioneer settlement at Southampton on Lake Huron. During the 1870’s Wellington and his wife Hester (pictured below) moved still further north to the shore of upper Lake Huron at the confluence of the Garden and St Marys Rivers about ten kilometres east of Sault Ste Marie. The family presence in this remote area was detected by several children’s births registered in the 1870’s at Garden River. There were fifteen children born to the Brock family in all until pioneer life took its toll on Wellington Brock who died sometime after the youngest child’s birth in 1879. His widow Hester lived with her son David on Drummond Island, another remote settlement located on northern Lake Huron in Chippewa County, Michigan.

Brock-2207 and Brock-6784 appear to represent the same person because: Seems to be the same person based on info discovered through The Ontario Pioneers Genealogies.
