James Millar Brock was born and baptised 4 September 1825 . He was the son of John Brock and Jane Simpson.
He arrived in Tasmania with his father John, mother Jean and brothers Alexander and Henry on the "Edward Coulston" on 10 October 1833.[1]
He married Jane Hill (a niece of John Brock's second wife). They lived at Bolinda Vale in the Romsey vicinity. James died after his horse rolled on him on 24 June 1857 near Gisborne. He was aged 32. Two children, James and Euphemia, were left.[2]
He died 24 June 1857, aged 32 years.[3]
