In 1850, he is living in Van Buren county, Tennessee, USA with wife, Susannah, children, Rebecca, Allen, James, he is listed as a Farmer in the 1850 census[2]

In 1860, he is living in Van Buren county, Tennessee, USA with wife, Susannah, children, Rebecca, Allen, James, Harrison, Nancy, John Franklin, he is listed as a Farmer in the 1860 census[3]

He died on October 01, 1864 in either Alabama or Tennessee. USA[4]

Note: Named as an heir to his grandfather, John N. Porter, in 1831, also on his FAG memorial it says he died in Alabama, no record found , but he may have during the Civil War? also there is a son listed as born in 1867 but John died in 1864 but census could be wrong for year of birth or he is a grandson?
