James Kirkwood Brodie was important to our town of Redfield’s history. He was the son of George and Emily Kirkwood. He platted the land around the railroad track when Redfield when Red Bluff people had to move from the river to where the town became incorporated in 1898. He built the first house in Redfield and the second one for his aunt Ann Kirkwood. What information do you have? We are applying for a Redfield Historic District and J. K. Brodie is an important part of our application for the National Register of Historic Places.
