When Eliza Katherine Brodie was born on October 29, 1870, in Quebec, Canada, her father, William, was 31, and her mother, Isabella, was 24. She married Henry William Young on April 10, 1889, in Pembina, North Dakota. They had at least seven children in 18 years.

  • Verne Leslie
  • William Alton
  • Raymond Dell
  • Harold Vincent
  • Ivan Jay Alsom
  • Hazel Fay

She died on November 6, 1949, in Yakima, Washington, at the age of 79, and was buried in Zillah, Washington.

She is confused with an Eliza Styles. I have not found any proof of that. It is interesting to note that on the 1900 U.S. Census their were two Styles males listed as living in the Young household. Edward Styles, 28, listed as Servant; and Herbert Styles, 26, listed as a Boarder. I haven't been able to find anything else about them.

On her son's Harold's Washington, U.S., Death Index, it lists her as Eliza Katherine Styles.Did she get married to a Mr. Styles after her husban Henry Young died? Were the Styles listed on the 1900 census somehow involved? I can't fing anything.
