Biography

John was born in 1859. He passed away July 1897 at the age of 37. The was fishing on his boat The "Red Ribbon" one mile North of Saddell Bay when he stumbled and fell over board fully clothed in fishing gear and heavy boots. His brother in law Malcolm Brown was steering the boat and witnessed John drown. John left behind a widow Elizabeth and 9 children. [1]
