Named in the dictionary of National Biography as the wife of John Trumbull and mother of William Trumbull the diplomat.[1] The couple are said to be of Craven, Yorkshire, about 80 miles from Eastrington, the birth place given here, and about 400 miles from Padstow the place of death given. The burial in Padstow 6 June 1610 is for Elizabeth Brogen, daughter of John Brogen, so a child, and her name should have been Trumbull at burial to fit this Elizabeth.[2]
Possible baptism at Gargrave 1559, Elizabeth Brokedeyn.[3][4] Gargrave is less than 3 miles from Stirton, where her husband John is said to come from (Son William's biography in History of Parliament).[5]
