Thomas married Mary Roscorla. His profession was a tobacconist and merchant. They had seven children and lived in Lancashire. His youngest son Thomas Hodgson Bromfield was transported to Van Diemen's Land in 1845. He never saw his son again. Thomas died in 1847 at age 72.
