Richard Bromiley was born in Lancashire, England.

Richard, child of Thomas Bromiley, a spinner, and Alice Worsley, was born on 30 November 1876 and baptised on 24 December 1876 in Chorley, Lancashire, England.[1][2]

In 1881, at the age of 4, he was living at 38 Broom St., Chorley, Lancashire, England with his parents Thomas Bromiley (26), an Operative Cotton Spinner, and Alice (28).[3]

In 1891 at the age of 14 Richard was a Grocer's Assistant and still living with his parents Thomas (36) and Alice (37) and sister Esther (11), a scholar. The family were living at 16 Springfield Road, Chorley.[4]

Ten years later in 1901 Richard, now 24, was still at 16 Springfield Road, Chorley living with his parents, Thomas (46) a Life Insurance Agent, and Alice (24), and working as a Railway Office Clerk. The household included his sister Esther (21) an Assistant School Mistress.[5]

Richard's marriage to Hannah Ellen Berry was registered at Chorley during Jul-Sep 1901.[6] They were married at the United Reformed Church, Hollinshead Street.[7]

Richard and Hannah Ellen Berry had the following children:

  1. Tom Bromiley was born in 1902 in Chorley, Lancashire, England.[8]
  2. Bert Bromiley was born on 17 Oct 1908 in Chorley, Lancashire, England.[9]

In 1910 Richard appears in the electoral registers for Chorley with 16 Springfield Rd and 2 Royle Rd as qualifying properties.[10]

At the 1911 census Richard, aged 33 and an Estate Agent was still living at 16 Springfield Road, Chorley with his wife Hannah Ellen and two sons John (9) and Bert (2).[11]

In 1921 Richard (age 45), now an Insurance Broker, was still at 16, Springfield Road and with his wife and son Bert and a boarder Jane Marrion.[12]

Richard's death was registered at Chorley during Apr-Jun 1936 when he was 59.[13]

Death

Richard's death was registered at Chorley during Apr-Jun 1936. Therefore he died before 1 Jul 1936. As he had lived all of his life in Chorley it is very likely that that is where he died. [13]
