Jairus was born in 1779 to Titus and Hannah Bronson in Waterbury, Connecticut. He married Irene Mallory on Jan 11, 1804. They had the following children:
In 1819, Jairus and his brother, Augustas, established a homestead in Tallmadge, Ohio (then in Portage Co., now in Summit Co.) and the family joined him that fall. Jairus died in the home of his son Charles in 1858.
