Daniel was born in 1739 in Waterbury, New Haven, Connecticut, to his parents, Thomas Bronson II 1710 - 1759 and Susanna (Southmayd) Bronson 1703 - 1741. He married Esther (Bronson) Bronson (1747 - 1819) on 19 Jul 1770 in Waterbury, New Haven Connecticut. In 1776, Daniel Bronson served as a Sergeant in Lieutenant Isaac Benham's Company, 10th Connecticut Militia, Under Colonel Baldwin.
