Biography

Mrs Christian Grosvenor[1]

Christyan was the daughter of Richard Brooke of Norton, Cheshire, esq,[1] and his wife.

She was married to Richard Grosvenor of Eaton, Cheshire, esq,[1] on 9 January, 1584/85, in Cheshire, England.

Christian and Richard were the parents of:

  1. Richard Grosvenor, son and heir, married Letice, daughter of Sir Hugh Cholmondeleighe of Cholmondeleighe, Cheshire, Knight, and by 1610 they had Richard, son and heir apparent, and Mary Grosvenor;[1]
  2. Ann Grosvenor, was married to John Massy of Coddington, Cheshire, esq, and by 1610 they had John, Richard, Roger, Edward, William, Mary, Christian and Ann Massy;[1]
  3. Mary Grosvenor, spinster in 1610;[1]
  4. Christian Grosvenor, was married to Peter Danyell of Tabley, Cheshire, esq, and by 1610 they had Peter, Margrett and Christian Danyell;[1]
  5. ffraunces Grosvenor. living in 1610;[1]
  6. Catheren Grosvenor. living in 1610;[1]
  7. Dorothy Grosvenor. living in 1610;[1]
  8. Elizabeth Grosvenor. living in 1610;[1]
  9. Jane Grosvenor,[2] died an infant on 10 June, 1599;[3]
  10. Eleanor Grosvenor, [Elnor Grosuenat] was born on 28 December, 1601, and baptised on 3 January, 1601 [now 1602], at St Mary the Virgin's Church, Eccleston, Cheshire,[4] and living in 1610;[1]
  11. Margaret Grosvenour, baptised on 30 August, 1603, at St Mary the Virgin's Church, Eccleston,[5] Margrett was living in 1610;[1] and
  12. Madalen Grosvenor, was baptised on 4 January, 1606 [now 1607], at St Mary the Virgin's Church, Eccleston,[6] Mawdlyn was living in 1610.[1]

Mrs Christyan Grosvenor, late wife of Richard Grosvenor of Eaton, co Chester, died on 2 November, 1610.[1] She was interred in Eccleston Church, Cheshire.[1] Her Funeral Certificate was signed by Ric: Grosvenor, esq,[1] presumably her husband.
