Francis was born on 31 July 1549 at Reginald Peckham's house in Yaldham, Kent while her father William was in France.[1] 1586 Holinshead Vol IV page 202 Queene Elisabeth A. Dom. 1586 " Lord Cobham...that this lord married two wives, whereof the first ( as is before said) was the daughter of George Neville lord of Aburgauennie, by whom he had issue, one one onlie daughter called Francis yet living, being borne on Wednesday the last of Julie one thousand five hundred fourscore and nine, being first married to Thomas Coppinger of Alhallowes in the county of Kent esquire, by whom she hath issue, two sonnes now living, William and Francis; and after his decease unto Edward Becher esquire now living, by who she had also issue, two sonnes Caro and Francis. After the death of this lady Dorothie, the Lord Cobham married Frances, the daughter of Sir John Newton, by whom he had issue; foure sonnes, and three daughters, which were Maximilliam [4 Dec 1560-1583], Henrie, William, George, Elisabeth, Frances and Margaret"
Frances Brooke, mar. (1) Thomas Coppinger, of co. Kent in 1566, and (2) Edward Becher, and had issue by both husbands. Her two husbands were second cousins.
Nevylle, Lord Abergavenny, and Henry Copinger, of the parish of Allhallows, in the Hundred of Hooe, Co. Kent., Esq. That Tho. Copinger, son and heir apparent of said Henry, should marry Frans. Brook, eldest daughter of Right Hon. Sir William Brooke, Lord Cobham, and Lord Warden of the Sink Ports, said Lord Cobham to give 1,000 marks," &c.
