• LIFE SKETCH - Joseph Brooker died without a will in 1889 leaving a wife Jemimah Brooker, 2 sons W. H. Brooker and Joseph Brooker (1850-abt 1930) and 2 daughters Sarah J Scott (husband Thomas S Scott) and Mary Brooker surviving.
• A document dated Oct 1, 1890 states that "Joseph Brooker has been dead over sixty days and that there has been no administator appointed on his estate....ordered that J.A. Peeler Sheriff be appointed administrator...".
• A second document reads Thomas Scott and W.H. Brooker were appointed administrators of the estate Oct 10, 1890.
• At some point the name of Thomas Scott was crossed off and the name of Sheriff J. A. Peeler was added.
• It appears that son Joseph could not be found and perhaps W.H. Brooker and Thomas Scott did not show either.
