Commodore Hudson Brooks, 1893-1936, was born in Texas, the son of Young Brooks (1863-1930) and Mary Emma Perry (1875-1957), who married in 1891 in Hood, Cooke, Texas. Hudson Brooks and Mary Annie Hall (1893 TX-1978 TX) were married on 9 November 1911 in Johnson County, Texas. [4]

In 1920, the Brooks family lived on their rented farm in Johnson County, Texas. The family included Hudson Brooks, 27; his wife Marion (Mary), 26; their children, Archie, 6 and Marsha, 2 (transcription error-should be Marvin). [8]
In 1930, Hudson Brooks, 37, lived at 218 Elizabeth Street, Fort Worth, Tarrant, Texas. He rented his apartment for $12 per month. There were four other rental units bat that property. Hudson was divorced. He had first married at age 18. He was born in Texas, as were his parents. Hudson worked as a waiter at a cafe. [9]
Hudson Brooks, 43, of 306 Mo, Fort Worth Texas, was shot at a night club, at 701 Main, Fort Worth, on 30 December 1936. He died route to Harris Hospital. He was “shot in the left groin, ranged upward, came out lower back.” His death was ruled a homicide. Brooks was born on 7 December 1893 in Texas, the son of Young Brooks (b. NC) and Emma Perry (b. TX). He was divorced. He was buried at Cahill cemetery. The informant to his death was (probably his brother) C.Y. Brooks, 3305 Ave. J, Fort Worth, Texas. [10]
