Robert Peel Brooks was one of the first African-American lawyers in Richmond, Virginia. He was also a Republican Party leader and newspaper editor before his untimely death at the age of twenty-eight.

Robert Peel Brooks was born in 1853. He was the son of Albert Brooks and Lucy Goode.

He passed away in 1882.
