WHITE HALL, March 27, - James Otis Brooks, 81, died at 11:45 p.m. Wednesday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Allen Brannen in this city following a few hours illness.
Mr. Brooks was born in White Hall, the son of a stage driver, who operated between White Hall and Jacksonville. He followed the potter's trade during his active years. He was a member of the Masonic lodge and White Hall chapter, Order of Eastern Star, and the Methodist church. His wife, the former Electa Berry died in 1927. He is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Branen and a granddaughter, Carolyn Joyce Brannen; three brothers, J. A. of Greenview, A. D. of Auburn, and A. H. of St. Louis; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Chapman and Mrs. Katie Moore, both of Hutchinson, Kan., and Mrs. Emma Graves of Sedgwick, Kan.

White Hall, March 29 -- Funeral services for James Otis Brooks, who died Wednesday night, will be held here at 2 p.m. Sunday. Rev. B. D. Mallison will officiate and interment will be in White Hall cemetery. Masons will be in charge of services at the cemetery.
