Biography

George was born on 26 Jul 1800 and christened on 13 January 1803 at St George the Martyr, Southwark, Surrey, England. He was the son of John Brooks and Elizabeth Parrot. ^[1]

George Brooks was married to Martha Claxton on 8th July 1823 at Saint George The Martyr, Southwark, Surrey, England. ^[2]

In 1851, George Brooks (age 50, born Southwark, Surrey, a merchant) was living at Lansdowne Place, Islington with his wife, Martha (53, born Oxford Street, Middlesex), daughter Mary A C Brooks (12, born Holloway, Middlesex) and two female servants. ^[5]

In 1861, George Brooks (age 60, a drug broker) was living at Lansdowne Place, Islington with his wife, Martha (64), daughter Mary A C Brooks (22, born Holloway, Middlesex) and two female servants. ^[6]

George Brooks died age 65 in Q2 of 1866 in Islington. ^[7]

Wife, Martha died in Q4 of the same year. ^[8]
