Ellen (Brooks) Brindle was born in Lancashire, England.

Ellen was born about 1907. She was the daughter of Joseph Brooks and Ellen Holloway, and her birth was registered in the Apr-May-Jun quarter of 1907 in the Bolton district.^[1]

1911 Census: 247 Halliwell Road, Bolton. Ellen was 3. Father Joseph 34 is working as a Fried Fish Dealer in his own business. Mother Ellen is 34. Siblings, Albert 9, Joseph 7, Annie 6, and Lily 2. ^[2]

Marriage: Ellen's marriage to Jack Brindle was registered in the Apr-May-Jun quarter of 1936 in the Bolton district.^[3]

1939 Register : 46 Astley Street, Bolton. Ellen and Jack (John) Brindle were living with Ellen's parents, Joseph and Ellen Brooks, who were unemployed, having been Fish and Chip Business Propietors.
