She married Walter R. Thompson 29 Jun 1905 at the Epworth United Methodist Church parsonage, Marion, Ohio.[3] They had 6 children now deceased[4][5][6]:

Mary, b. abt 1907
Wilbur, b. abt 1909
Raymond, b. abt 1911
Edna, b. abt 1914
Richard H., b. abt 1920
and 1 daughter who was still living in 2019.
Zella died 2 Mar 1970 at the Crestview Nursing Home, Medina, Ohio[7][4] Her funeral was held in Marion, Ohio.[4]
