Hayden T. Brooks was born in Virginia in 1800 or 1801. He was the husband of Sarah "Sally" Clopton whom died 14 Mar 1877 (buried in Oak Hill Baptist Cemetery, Larue Co KY). Find a Grave has that he passed away in LaRue, Kentucky in 1875[1] but this is believed to be incorrect. According to the notes left at Find a Grave; Hayden Brooks lived with his son Robert Wesley Brooks in Larue County per 1880 Census (see link below). Robert and his brother Bird P. Brooks moved west, and it appears Hayden went with one/both of them. The 1890 Veterans Schedule shows Civil War veterans Bird P. Brooks & brother Robert Wesley Brooks in Dade Co MO in 1890. This provides supporting evidence that their father Hayden T Brooks lived with one of them, died on 13 Feb 1885 and was buried in Dudenville Cemetery (6188769), not Oak Hill Baptist Cemetery in Larue Co KY. There is a second Find a Grave memorial that supports his birth in 1801 and his death in 1885.[2]
