Biography

He was accepted as a patriot by the Daughters of the American Revolution as noted in their newsletter November/December 2020.

Wife's maiden name (Flewellyn) is unsourced. One tree says "Burrell married Martha Broom (born Flewellen) in 1874." which if true is certainly not this Burrell and Martha. There is a Demsy F'Ellen, whom he purchased land from, mentioned in Burrell's will.

Parents: A John Broom m. Sarah Moser 7 Nov 1855.[1] Please note the John and Sarah (Moser) Broom profiles that were attached state they were married 7 Nov 1755, years after the births of their children. They were removed

Death

Between 15 NOV 1798 (date of Will) and Mar 4, 1799 (date of probate), in Warren County, Georgia

He names his wife, Martha Broom and children: sons, Ishmael, Adam, Rufus, and David and daughter Elizabeth Morris or Mims.[2] There is some question over Elizabeth's surname. See below. Is it Morris or Mims? Leroy Mims (very clearly Mims) witnessed the will, and presented it for probate. A quick scan at Ancestry shows a succession of men named Leroy Mims living in Warren County, Georgia.

Broom-444 and Broom-213 appear to represent the same person because: Same parents. Same dates. Same wife.

Broome-536 and Broom-444 appear to represent the same person because: Exact dates, same spouse and child

Variation in spelling of Last Name at Birth to be added to the Other Last Name field until a primary source can be added

Broom-281 and Broom-213 appear to represent the same person because: I believe you have accidently copied Ismael's dates onto Burrell's profile. Broom-213 may have fictitious parents (certainly unproven) His wife was a Martha and he had a child Ishmael (from Burrell's will) that fits relatively well.

The more I search The more I am convinced that the alleged parents are not his. Perhaps a John and Sarah, but not this John and Sarah.

Perhaps, because you were looking at Ishmael instead of Burrell, - Ishmael Broom-280 and Burrell Broom-281 (this one) have the same birth date, but you have them as father and son. Is it the two Burrells you think are the same? Burrell-281 and Burrell-231. By the way I'm not related at all, to my knowledge. As an aside, you might find it helpful, if you enter your sources, as you enter your people. That way you don't have to go back later.
