Knut David Brosell was the son of smelter smith Johan Adolf Brosell at Bockhammar and his wife Anna Lovisa Larsson. He was born 6 February 1887, and it is noted in the birth book that he was not baptized; thus there is a s.k. (So Called) by his name.[1] He moved from Gunnilbo parish to Ramnäs parish with his parents the same year he was born.[2] They came back to Gunnilbo and then emigrated in 1889.[3]
They lived in Joliet, Illinois.[4][5] About 1911 David married Marie and by 1930 they had two children, Leslie, 18 years and Ethel, 14 years.[6][7]
