As far as I know Brosius is a Dutch surname. I had a quick look and could find people wih the name as far back as the 1600's. Don't know if the name is also found in other countries.

In order to determine wether or not John Wingo was the nephew of John Butler, we would need more information. I have not heard from my researcher in some time. I will let you know if I find anything new. Please feel free to add any well sourced info that you find. Thanks for the email!!
