Biography

Constantia[1][2] Broughton was born around 1670 (estimated to match brother)

She was the daughter of Andrew Broughton (who resided Seaton, Rutland, 1669) & Anne Overton (based on being sister of Thomas Broughton). [1]

She was the sister of Thomas Broughton (Governor of Carolina). [1]

She emigrated from England to North America.

She married John Ashby (Second Cacique of Carolina). [1][2]

Constantia died 20 January 1720. [1]

Broughton-244 and Broughton-237 do not represent the same person because: Although the names match, and they both have a mother named Anna, no other details match. Different fathers, different siblings.

Broughton-244 and Broughton-237 appear to represent the same person because: Several sources in the South Carolina Historical and Genealogical Magazine archives (which can be looked up on Google) have these as the same person. First name in the records is almost universally spelled Constantia.
