Mary BROUGHTON was born in 1655 in Northampton, Hampshire Co, MA. Daughter of John BROUGHTON and Hannah BASCOMB.

Married First to James BENNETT on Feb 18, 1674 in Northampton, Hampshire County, Massachusetts.[1][2]

They had one child named Mary BENNETT born on 10 Dec 1675, Northampton, Hampshire Co., MA.[3] Her husband James was slain during Phillip's War, in 1676 at Turners Falls.

Widowed Mary BROUGHTON Bennett then married Benoni STEBBINGS in 1676, in Deerfield, Hampshire County, Massachusetts. They had these following children (listed chronological order):

  2. Thankful STEBBINS
  3. Abigail STEBBINS
  4. Mindwell STEBBINS
  5. Esther STEBBINS (twin)
  6. Joseph STEBBINS (twin)

Mary passed away on 2 Aug 1689 in Deerfield, Hampshire County, Massachusetts..[4]

Benoni became a widower with 2 newborns and 4 other children, all under age 11. He waited two years before remarrying again, to widowed Hannah ATKINSON Edwards and had two more children with her.

Broughton-448 and Broughton-439 appear to represent the same person because: Data on both profiles overlap, but represent the same person. Mary Broughton, married James Bennett (Bennett-6770, also duplicated in Bennett-6869) in 1674 and had Mary (Bennett) Field (Bennett-6868) who married John Field (Field-1631). James died in 1676. Our subject then married Benoni Stebbins and had issue with him before her death in 1689. Several sources are available, but it would make more sense to add them after a merge.
