This profile has been proven to be a fabrication. Previously, it had several sources (listed below) that may or may not be genuine. The sources that may prove genuine are not associated with this profile. Because this profile has been proven to be a fabrication based on the sourcing and biographical elements presented at creation, it shall not be taken out of the Disproven Existence Adjunct Project without substantive evidence that it truly existed. If you wish to restore this profile from the disproven existence categorization, please open a G2G thread, add the tag "fraud" to the post, present your sources and argument, and then link to the thread in the profile notes.

Research Notes

The attached file, purporting to tell the story of "Emila", contains a number of errors which indicate it is a gross fabrication:

  • mention of a "sherriff", a curious term to apply to a Frenchman, and an anachronic concept for 15th/16th century France.
  • mention of polygamy as "a common thing in France back then". This is incorrect. Polygamy was not tolerated by the Catholic church, even back then, and polygamy as an institution did not exist in France either.
  • mention of "negro" slaves. There were none in France at that time.
