Biography

Susanne Broussard was born on 2 Apr 1790 [Tombstone: " ___ ____ 1792" GFB] and baptized the following month in St. Martinville, Louisiana. She is the daughter of Amand Broussard and his second wife, Anne Benoit. [1]

She married Maximilien Decuir on 11 Nov 1811 in St. Martinville. Both were listed as natives of St Martinville; Susanne's family was listed as living in La fausse pointe (present-day Loreauville), while Maximilien's family was living "on the [Flammand/Tasse/Spanish gfb] Lake". [2]

She died sometime before 22 Apr 1851 when she was listed as deceased in her daughter's marriage record. [Tombstone: "27 Avril 1849" Please note that she is buried in the double tomb with her husband, but her stone was mistakenly glued on the wrong tomb. GFB] [3]
