Biography

Jonas Brown was born 3 May 1711 in Watertown, Middlesex Co, Massachusetts Bay, son of Joseph Brown and Ruhamah (Wellington) Brown.[1]

About the same time his family moved to Lexington, Middlesex Co, where Jonas was baptized 20 May 1711.[2]

Jonas married Hannah Monroe on 28 May 1734, possibly in Lexington.[3]

Jonas and Hannah soon moved to Sutton, Worchester Co, where several children were born, including:

Hannah (b. 15 May 1735[4])
Jonas (b. 17 Apr 1737[4])
Josiah (b. 4 May 1739[4])
William (b. 21 Mar 1742,[5] d. 8 Apr 1742[6])
Ruhamah (b. 4 Aug 1743[5])
William (b. 18 Apr 1746[5])
Ebenezer (b. 10 Apr 1749,[4] d. June 1749[7])
Susanna (b. 11 July 1750,[5] d. 29 July 1750[6])
