Biography

Hi! I'm a single woman that has grown up in Virginia. My parents and one sister are gone, and I have one sister left, also here in Virginia. No children, but a couple different pets. I'm hoping some networking here will help me get past some brick walls I've hit in my research. I never knew my father or his family, so digging into my genealogy has helped me learn a little more about my family history.

Thank you for signing the Honor Code, Michelle!

One of our mentors created a tutorial for the GEDCOMpare process that others found very helpful. I hope that you will too.

Also, you may want to consider adding more tags. They are very useful for finding others who are researching the same names and places and may help you break down your brick walls! Find your tags here. You can find more information about tags here.

Tags should be single surnames, locations, or genealogical interests related to your family research. Comments should relate to why those tags interest you.

Everyone does this a little differently but you can have a look at the tags on my profile to get an idea. Hope that helps!

Click the green tags on your top right of your profile page and see others following the same things you are researching. The more tags you add (20 max.) that include surnames, locations, periods of history or other genealogical interests, the more links to community research options you will have.
