Mary Brown-Walker, the daughter of William Brown and Mary Unknown-Robinson, was born on 28 Jul 1649 in Gloucester, Massachusetts[1][2][3][4] and baptized on 28 Jan 1657.[5][6]

Mary Brown was her birth name, however she was known as Mary Walker after her mother's third marriage to Henry Walker.[6] She is referred to in genealogical writings and records as either Mary Walker, Mary Brown, Mary Brown-Walker, or Mary Walker/Brown.[7]

Mary married William Haskell on 3 Jul 1667 in Gloucester, Massachusetts.[2][8][9][10][11][12] They had the following children:[3][5][9][13]

Mary died on 12 Nov 1715 in Gloucester, Massachusetts.[2][5][8][9][13]

Research Notes

Probate records prove that Mary (Brown) Haskell was half-sister to Abraham Robinson, Jr. They shared the same mother, Mary (Unknown), who married three times: 1) Abraham Robinson Sr., 2) William Brown, and 3) Henry Walker.[2][14]

There were three William Browns living close to each other in Salem, Gloucester and Marblehead and they and their children are often confused. Mary Brown, the daughter of William Brown of Gloucester, married to William Haskell.[2][14] Mary Brown, the daughter of William Brown of Marblehead, married to John Pedrick II.[15]

Her birthdate is 4 years after her father's death. Is there a source for her parentage?

I actually think she should have been identified as Abraham's wife (with an unknown last name). Abraham's widow went on to marry the two men shown for this Mary, and Abraham's widow Mary, did die in 1690.

Walker-8293 and Brown-10806 appear to represent the same person because: Both married to William Haskell.

According to "Chronicles of the Haskell Family: the English Background and First Generation" by Mrs. Marion S. Anderson, in the "Haskell Journal: Journal of the Haskell Family Association" v8 #4, 1992, Mary Brown was her birth name. She changed her surname to Walker after the marriage of her mother to Henry Walker, her mother's third marriage. She is referred to in genealogical writings and records as either Mary Walker, Mary Brown, Mary Brown-Walker, or Mary Walker/Brown.
