Biography

When Mercy Brown was born on November 25, 1699, in Swansea, Massachusetts, her father, James, was 44, and her mother, Margaret, was 42. She married Jedediah Carpenter and they had five children together. She then married Ichabod Wiswell and they had two children together. She died on December 23, 1751, in Rehoboth, Massachusetts, at the age of 52.

Mercy Carpenter, then of Rehoboth, and Ichabod Wiswall of Attleboro were married by Rev. John Greenwood on 09 November 1736.[1][2] The birth record of Mercy's Wiswall children mention that she was the widow of Jediah Carpenter of Rehoboth, although it does not supply her given name.[3]

Children of Ichabod Wiswall and Mercy include:

  1. David Wiswall, b. 14 Mar 1738, Attleboro.[3]
  2. Esther Wiswall, b. 01 Jul 1740, Attleboro.[3]

She passed away in 1751.

Died 12 23 1751. Rehoboth, Bristol, Massachusetts, USA.
