Daniel was born in 1822 in Tennessee, to Tobias Brown (1791-1843) and probably Sarah Ribelin (Smith) Brown (1794-1843).[1][2] He married Nancy Emoline Waddle on 17 Aug 1843 in Pulaski County, Kentucky.[3] The family moved to Franklin County before 1870 and Daniel likely died there of tuberculosis after 1880[4][5]
