Birth
Calebwas the youngest child of Abraham and Mary Brown of Shrewsbury, Monmouth, New Jersey and he is mentioned in his father's Will. His birth is an estimate based upon that information and has been set at about 1683, more-or-less.

It is unclear if Caleb Brown was a Quaker although by birth-right he would have been 'taken as such'. No Quaker records have surfaced at this time.

Marriage(s)
A marriage record for location, Shrewsbury, Monmouth county, exists for a Caleb Browne and one Mary Browne showing a marriage on 17 November 1731, Monmouth, New Jersey. ^[1] but the marriage year, 1731 suggests it's a second marriage if it indeed has been correctly linked to Caleb Brown. The last name sameness also suggests Mary may have been a cousin. There doesn't appear, at this time, to be any other Caleb Brown's residing in Monmouth or Gloucester county, New Jersey who could be candidates for this marriage record.

In his Will Caleb mentions wife Mary who could have been the Mary Brown from the 1731 record or she could have been a second Mary' ^[2]

His probated Will also suggests that Caleb died childless or his children proceeded him in death but no grandchildren are mentioned. ^[2]

Caleb Brown died intestate at Greenwich, Gloucester, New Jersey and on 20 May 1751 his estate was probated ^[2]

--20 May 1751, Caleb Brown of Greenwich twp, Gloucester county, New Jersey, sawyer, Intestate. Mary [Brown], widow, asks that Benjamin Lodge be appointed administrator of her husband's estate.

This Caleb Brown profile was created in 2012 by a Gedcom upload. The Mary Brown profile was created about 2016 and both were later released from WikiTree user profile management (PM). A later descendant of the Abraham Brown family line has assumed PM responsibility and offers this additional information for future researchers.
