Biography

Benjamin Brown was the son of Joseph Brown and Susanna Cole. He was born about 1751, his birthplace unknown. Joseph and Susanna Brown moved from Eastham, Massachusetts to Gorham, Maine about 1751 and Benjamin likely was born enroute. [1]

Benjamin married Sarah Phinney about 1771/2 using the birthdate of their first born, Edmund. [2] [3] They had ten children:

  3. Betty Brown 1776–[6]
  4. Isaac Cole Brown 1778–[7]
  5. John Gorham Brown 1781–1872[8]
  6. Nancy Brown 1783–[9]

  8. Polly Brown 1788–1865[11]
  9. Patience Brown 1791–[12]
  10. Sally Brown 1795–[13]

Benjamin passed away about 1796.
