Brown-50948 and Brown-2071 appear to represent the same person because: In researching further I believe that although her birth as described by Esther Salsbury in her father's pension recorded it was Ida Mary, both the government and documented marriages show Mary Ida (and Ida Mary) Brown. The dates and parentage match so this Brown 50948 is really a duplicate of Brown-2071 and they therefore should be merged together. Since both names were used on different documents I am satisfied that going by Mary Ida Brown is not incorrect (nor is Ida Mary) and duplicate avoidance is important.
