Gordon was born in 1880 to Alexander Brown and Henrietta Blandy.[1]
He received his education at Eton and Sandhurst before starting a career in the military.
He married Editha, Lady Brown, of Broome Hall, Holmwood, Surrey. Together they had a son, Captain Sir John Hargreaves Pigott-Brown, who died in World War II.
Gordon joined the 3rd Battalion Coldstream Guards in January of 1900.
He then served in the South African Campaign with the 2nd Battalion presunably as part of its reinforcements (1901-2).
During World War I he was still with the Coldstream Guards. When he was killed overseas, he was a captain in the 1st Battalion. He is remembered for his service at the Menin Gate Memorial in Ypres, Belgium.
