George was born in Waimea South, on 21 May 1857. He was the son of Thomas Brown and Elizabeth Wadsworth. [1]

George died at age 36 at Nelson hospital.

Death. BROWN – December 27, 1894, at the Nelson Hospital, George BROWN, aged 36 yrs.

George was buried at Wakapuaka cemetery, Nelson. His mother, Elizabeth Betsy Brown was also later buried in this plot in 1920 and her inscription was added to the headstone.
The headstone is on the bank near the Ancestors Attic. Baptist block 5, plot 70.
The headstone is no longer standing and in 2004 it was partially concealed amongst long grass. [4]
