Biography

Born at Horsforth in Yorkshire James Brown was son of clothier, Samuel Brown and his wife, Martha Fryer who lived at Henry St in Leeds. [1]

On 16 October 1865 at St Peter he married Elizabeth Douglas, daughter of weaver, Thomas Douglas. [2]They set up home in Harrison Row.[3]
