Biography

Daniel's father John Brown, along with dozens of others from Newport, Rhode Island, USA, were granted land by the King in the newly created township of Newport, Hants County, Nova Scotia. It was farm land previously cultivated by the Acadians but forfeited when they were forced from their lands during the expulsion of 1755/56, Daniel was born there.

He found his way to St. Martin's, Saint John County, New Brunswick, where other British loyalist had been granted land following the USA/Britain Revolutionary War.

from find-a-grave: Daniel and Mary Ann (Keirstead) Brown had 7 children, the oldest of which was Esther (Easter) H. (Brown)Brown (1822-1898) born and died in St. Martins, New Brunswick, Canada. Esther married Harrington F. Brown, the son of Thomas and Elizabeth (Vaughan) Brown. Other children were Jemima, Marget, Robert, Prescilla, George, and Daniel.

Esther and Harrington Brown had three children: Henry Robert (1851-1927), Havelock (1858-1904), and Aubrey. Henry Robert Brown (1851-1927) married twice. First to Georgianna Bond Carr (1858-1910) and second to Charlotte. Henry and Georgeanna moved to the United States. Their son Wallace Sterling Brown (132848928) married in Newport, Rhode Island to Myrtle Stacy Carr (132847309).

Daniel Brown's mother was the daughter of Joseph Bailey (1719-1787) and Hannah (Sanford) Bailey (1725-1757) and the wife of John E. Brown (1752-1815
