He married Nancy M. Wheeler (1838-1876) c. 1859.

Military Service


Nathaniel served in the United States Civil War. He enlisted on 5 August 1862 in Yorkshire, Cattaraugus, New York. He was a married farmer. Nathaniel was wounded in the head at the Battle of Chancelorsville on 2 May 1863 and honorably discharged on 15 June 1865.
