Biography

Marriage

John William Brown and Sarah Burgess were married after banns at St Simon Zelotes, Bethnal Green, London on 3rd January 1892.[1] They were bachelor and spinster and both living at 18 Knottisford Street at the time. John was 24, a labourer and the son of John Brown who was a builder. Sarah was 20, a tailoress and the daughter of Charles Edward Burgess who was a boot finisher. They each signed their own name on the register and the witnesses to the marriage were Thomas Burgess and Elizabeth Brown.[2]

Research Notes

Originally this profile was created as the husband of Elizabeth Martha Yates who it was stated he married in 1892. However the marriage register shows that he in fact married Sarah Burgess so I have removed the incorrect marriage.
