Donald "Donnie" Eugene Brown crossed into heaven to join mother Vera, father William, brothers Bill and Earl, sister Alberta and several nieces and nephews on January 26. At the age of two, Donnie lost his hearing and the ability to speak due to meningitis but always shared his joy for life with others despite these difficulties. In 1950 Donnie moved to California from Ohio with his brothers, eventually settling in Vallejo. Here, he worked as a skilled journeyman drywall taper for more than 50 years in the Painters and Tapers Union. He was a classic car restoration enthusiast, successfully restoring many cars. Donnie loved his family and always enjoyed family gatherings. He cared for his mother his entire life until her death in 1978. He had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed playing practical jokes on anyone possible. He was also an active member of Vallejo First Church of the Nazarene, where he helped during several remodeling projects. Donnie leaves behind his devoted brother Jim (Georgia) Brown and sisters Thelma Garvin, Alice (John) Salmon, Rose Wadlow and Ruth Hamilton, and numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
