Felix Canada Brown was born September 19, 1835, in Knox county, Tennessee, the son of Judge Thomas A. Brown and Margaret Devine (Blakely) Brown.
By the time that Felix was four years of age, his family had moved to Nodaway, Missouri. They appear on the United States Census of 1860, living in Nodaway, by which time Felix, now 24 years of age, has six younger siblings, all born in Missouri. 
On October 3, 1878, in Buchanan county, Missouri, Felix married Ella George. 
Felix died April 8, 1912, in Saint Joseph, Buchanan county, Missouri and is buried in the New King Hill Cemetery, in Saint Joseph. 
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Felix by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
