I am the great grand daughter of Mary Clesta Brown. I have her picture and the name, date of birth and date of death have been written on the back by her grand daughter, Mary, Elizabeth Dodd Dashiell. My grandmother's name was Mary Elizabeth (Bessie ) Waters Dodd. It would seem either she had been adopted or her mother was married 2 different times since her mother's name was Brown.

I am searching for information about Mary Clesta Brown who was born in 1840 probably in Maryland or Virginia. She died in 1919 probably on the eastern shore of Maryland, possibly in the home of her daughter, Mary Elizabeth, (Bessie) Dodd. She was my great grandmother. I have her picture with this information written on the back. I am most anxious to locate more information about her and her family and husband.
